Completing Your Weaving (5th Grade)

I know some fifth grade students did not have time to go back and complete their weaving this school year, but I still want you to have the information to finish!  This was a special project just for you!  Your weaving can be finished at any point.  You do not need to weave more yarn.

Remember, your weaving can completely fall apart after it has been cut and before it is tied.  Do not pick it up until everything is tied.

Cut down the center

Turn to back

Hold the carboard down with one hand and carefully pop out strings with the other hand. Do not pull the strings out of the weaving! Repeat for other side

Carefully remove cardboard. Be sure not to lift up the weaving.

Tie ends like shoe strings twice. If you end in an odd number, still tie it to the one next to it. Do not cut the fringe short. If you do, it will stick up and not lay flat. You may tidy up the weaving and trim any strings that stick off.
