Owl Sculptures!

Assignment: Create an owl sculpture 

Materials: Toilet paper roll, black permanent marker, crayons.  You can add other details with paint pen, gel pen, marker, feathers, sequins, etc, but those supplies are not required.  

A sculpture is an artwork that you can walk all the way around.  You can see all of the sides and it isn't flat!  Your owls are sculptures!  To create the owl, follow the steps in the pictures below.

Drawing on a curved roll can be hard, so you can always make a practice one first.  You can also squish the roll a little when coloring and drawing.  Have fun and be creative!  Your owl does not have to look exactly like mine.

If you want to make owls that are different sizes, cut the roll smaller first. Then, push the sides in the make the top.

Make an upside down rainbow touch the circle eyes. Draw an "M bird" above the eyes.

Now you are ready to color with crayon!

I used a white paint marker to add a few more details after coloring with crayon.
